Today, we kicked off Dentistry's first event in honor of Texas A&M's 150th Celebration.
From our founding in 1905 as a pioneer in dental education in Texas, to our present as the state's premier training ground for elite clinicians, we honor those Aggies who came before us.
We're inspired by their legacy of excellence.
We build on their spirit of service.
We're here for good healthcare.

Leadership and service define who we are as Aggies. We step forward when our professions need people who are willing to pitch in their expertise and their time to make our communities healthier.
That's why Texas A&M University College of Dentistry is especially proud of Maureen Brown, BSDH, MS-HIED, RDH, who has been elected to the 2026-2027 board of directors of the American Dental Hygienists' Association, once our nation's most critical voices in oral healthcare.
Not everyone can balance their academic responsibilities, their clinical service, and still have time to help shape how dental hygiene will lead the fight for better oral healthcare.
We stand with the thousands of dental professionals like Professor Brown who are making a brighter, healthier world possible.
Together, we are a force for good. 👍

Dr. Amp Miller will absolutely hate that I'm referring to him as a legend. But true legends don't chase that title. They work hard every day to inspire others to build a better, healthier world.
That's what Dr. Miller has done for 53 years.
Yep. 53 years.
He was a student when we were Baylor University College of Dentistry. He was a faculty member when we became a standalone dental school, and then part of Texas A&M University in Dallas more than 30 years ago.
Amp Miller trained generations of dentists - 6,000 by the dean's count (fun fact: he taught our dean when she was a dental student). Our students chose him as Teacher of the Year FIVE TIMES. That's an acknowledgement of the impact he's had on everyone who has worked with him.
Dr. Miller, a prosthodontist, has been a constant presence on campus, having taught a wide range of courses, from preclinical to graduate prosthodontics. He even stepped up to serve as Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs.
As you'll read in the story below, Dr. Miller hopes he is remembered as a “capable, caring educator that tried to make the programs as good as they could be and help the students when they need help”.
Amen. I can't wait to see who stands up and takes on the responsibility of inspiring the next generation of oral healthcare professionals.
Thank you, Dr. Miller.

Honoring those who came before us is part of who we are as Aggies. Everything we build now to make the world a better place starts with the sacrifice they made for us.
On this Memorial Day, Texas A&M University College of Dentistry honors the memory of those who died in the service of our country, by creating a healthier, brighter world for future generations.
