Current Indigenous View on el Rebozo since the Press Release from the Mexican Parteras erased the Indigenous communities voices.
We will gather those and have them be HEARD.
The conversation is about Isabel looking for a traditional midwife and she interviewed one that was honest with her and said “I’m not able to care for you right now, I don’t have capacity anymore, I’m too old” and then from there I asked her about the rebozo. And I told her about the possible lawsuit and she said “people need to be honest when they don’t know how to do something” referring back to how that midwife was honest and said she couldn’t provide care.
_______
Montse took the time to talk to the women in her community about what is happening with the Rebozo. These are women who have birthed with traditional midwives and who use the Rebozo within their families in the traditional way. Here’s one very important opinion. Isabel P. from a Nahuatl-Ñu’u Savi community in the Mixteca Poblana región. Out of lack of trust for outsiders, it was requested that the specific name of the community is not mentioned.

1. Your training with Gena Kirby doesn't not count as learning from an INDIGENOUS person who has direct connection to the Rebozo.
2. "I traveled to Mexico and bought one and they were happy" is not permission to use one, because in Mexico they have no idea what it is being used for. You also have to acknowledge that people in Mexico are struggling financially and will be happy you purchased from them. Survival is important and you should totally understand dollars are big and they need to meet their needs.
3. Doulas are hurting birthing people by utilizing it incorrectly and please do not say, "my clients have never complained" the amount of people who shared their stories never told their doula but are now coming out and sharing their stories as we make the petition for major doula training organizations to stop. They are real and growing in numbers.
I hope you all have a wonderful day.

6 weeks.
These were the words that came from my doctor as he showed me the xray and said..
I fractured my finger.
Left hand, index.
All I could think of was my family, telling me that all parts of my body were important and needed care. But that my hands, those were my biggest gift. To care for them by not burning them (cooking) or overworking them. To treat them with the most love.
But then this happened and I sat there and cried, how could I be so careless. How could I have allowed anything to happened to them.
My hands are my work, my way of providing comfort and how I have supported my family for years.
They are how I take care of you and share with you.
His words echoed in my head and guilt came over me. 6 weeks... what about my home, my kids, my fertility clients, my pregnant clients, my members and what about my art...
One step at a time I guess.
(Fracture where cursor is at)

Growing Pains.
With transitions and growth we can't avoid, growing pains.
I've had to take a break and allow the many transitions to settle.
We have grown and I have had to take a minute to really grasp everything that has occured.
My social media presence had to be minimized and I took a break from .and.chisme to re-evaluate what our next steps would be.
My website is down as it is redesigned and I said goodbye to my assistant of almost a year.
2020 has been a year of changes and I'm here for it, but it's also been about surrendering all plans and allowing the universe to guide me through it all.
My brother is now in Mexico and this week we will be going live to update you all on his well-being.
Saulito was born within 5 MINUTES of my water breaking and surrendering to quick change has definitely been the theme of the year.
2020 has given me some if the best laughs and love. And I'm ready to start 2021.
I feel rested.
I feel accomplished.
I feel better now.
Let's return focus, let's finish this year with BIG things.
