We celebrated Grow the Grove this past weekend and had an incredible time celebrating Cristo Rey Dallas' academic achievements, and the many successes this past year has brought our community. We were also proud to recognize our award recipients throughout the evening.
Michelle Vopni with the Ignite Award, which honors a business leader for their commitment to Cristo Rey Dallas and the Corporate Work Study
program. Michelle exemplifies service beyond the workplace with CRD as past Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee. As a key member of the Jobs Committee, she has been instrumental in securing numerous Job Partners, beginning with EY as a founding partner of the program.
Chris Freeman Popolo with the Luminous Award, which recognizes a person
or organization who demonstrates passion and commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey Dallas. Chris has been a dedicated member of the Academic Committee, and played a key role in advancing Cristo Rey Dallas’ academic mission over the years. A committed supporter, she previously served as Grow the Grove Chair and continues to champion the Corporate Work Study program and related events throughout the year. Currently, she serves as
a member of the national Cristo Rey Network board of directors.
A special thank you to our chairs Jude Nash and Chris Barnet, the host committee, volunteers, and sponsors. We could not have done it without you!
A heartfelt thank you to our alumni, Alejandro Barron, for joining us and sharing his inspiring reflections on his time at CRD, his journey through college, and his professional experience at the University of North Texas. We are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished and look forward to watching your career continue to grow in the years ahead.
We hope you enjoyed the CRD Ballet Folklórico performance and had the chance to connect with our student ambassadors during the night.
Thank you again for supporting our mission and investing in the future of our students. We are so grateful for your generosity and look forward to seeing you again next year!
