MEET THE ILLUSTRATORS OF THE COOL KIDS CHRONICLE! 🎨
We’re doing something BRAND NEW with the Cool Kids Chronicle this year… and I am SO excited about this one!
Last year, our students took ownership of the writing in our newspaper. This year, we’re taking it one step further—they’re helping create the artwork, too!
For the first time ever, the CKC officially has student illustrators!
Our illustrators will create original, hand-drawn artwork that I’ll digitize and turn into graphics to use throughout our newspaper. That means when you flip through an edition of the CKC and see all of those fun little illustrations, you’re not just looking at a cute graphic—you’re looking at artwork created by one of our very own students!
Because let’s be honest… the news can get a little boring without some fun colors and graphics to look at—especially when your reporters and readers are kids! And I think our adult readers enjoy a little extra color, too!
But my favorite part of this new role goes beyond making our newspaper look fun.
These students love art. They’re creative, talented, and have gifts that deserve to be used. I want our kiddos to learn that the gifts God has given them can be used in so many different ways—and ultimately, they can use those gifts to honor and glorify Jesus.
What better place to start than their very own school newspaper?!
Now, outside of art class, these kiddos have another place to dream something up, put pencil to paper, and pour that creativity into something that our entire school community gets to enjoy.
Their drawings.
Their ideas.
Their creativity.
Their newspaper.
So please give it up for—and help me welcome for the FIRST TIME EVER—the official Illustrators of the Cool Kids Chronicle!
