One of the best parts about coming to SFCF is the opportunity to immerse yourself in circus surrounded by talented instructors and supportive students... these aren't "do the thing once and forget it" type experiences!

SFCF attendees have the chance for immersion in Chloe Marvel Light Axelrod's unique style of lyra in her 5-day series class, "San Francisco Style Hoop," Monday-Thursday (10/1 - 10/5) at 11:30am.

"Offering a well rounded idea of how to train like me! Warm-ups, to strength training, to tricks, and spins. We will put it all together by the end of the week into one of my classic combos. The next step you to take it home and make into your own adding personality, style and flair!"

What better way to start your days at SFCF than a lovely "Daily Streeettchhh" with Shannon McKenna?? This series class runs Monday through Thursday (10/1 - 10/4) each morning at 10am.

"An all levels roll out and warm up sesh to start your festival days off right. Special
attention will be paid to “trouble spots” for aerialists such as tight shoulders and hip
flexors.
Prerequisite: Nada"

Flexibility Friday. . . Shout out to @angie_around_the_world for asking me what exercise she should do to keep her leg STRAIGHT in her straddle ups. I remembered Angie. I forgot my keys today, I forgot to email like 10 people, but I remembered this exercise for you! 🤣💙 . . This one comes from the lovely Marina at Sky Gym (I miss her so!) . . The exercise is pretty straight forward. I’m TRYING to keep my foot as close to the floor as possible as I make these circles by squeezing my butt #everydayisgluteday and extending my leg as straight as possible. If you start slacking on that, that hip starts to get kinda like my instagram captions on a Friday night- crunchy. . . Oh yeah, and I’m wearing ankle weights, because this ain’t my first rodeo. However, do it sans ankle weights to start and ensure you have the pathway and extension THERE. Remember: Beast mode is evident through your form.

Do you know what's keeping you safe in the air? Don't leave your safety while dangling to chance! Learn the basics of aerial rigging with Colleen Tabolt at her "Rigging for Aerialists" workshop on Saturday, 9/29 at 5pm!

"A basic introduction for all those who would like to know more about aerial rigging.

This two-hour workshop is an introduction to aerial rigging and will give you the tools to begin to rig your apparatus safely.

Attention will be paid to hands-on learning, but the course will be largely lecture based due to the nature of the material. We will discuss common equipment, ratings and capacities, anchor points, venue/ space assessment, materials and safety checks, and rescue plans.

Ideal for aerial students, those who own their own equipment, and information seekers."
