My heart is FULL! ❤️🥹

A heartfelt THANK YOU to South College for inviting me to speak with your surgical technology students. It was truly an honor to share my journey, my experiences, and a little of the knowledge I’ve gained along the way.

As a surgical technologist, I know how important it is to have people who are willing to pour into the next generation of surgical professionals. If I can encourage even one student, inspire someone to keep pushing, or remind someone of the impact they can make in the OR, then I’ve done my part.
We were all students once, trying to find our way, build our confidence, and figure out what this profession would look like for us. Being able to give back, share real-world insight, and help prepare the next generation is something I will never take for granted.
Thank you for creating this opportunity and allowing me to be a part of your students’ journey. The future of surgical technology is in good hands, and I’m grateful to play even a small role in shaping it. 🩺❤️

Being a preceptor isn’t about setting someone up to fail, withholding knowledge, or throwing them under the bus to make yourself look better. It’s about teaching, guiding, correcting with respect, and giving them the tools to succeed. 💯
There’s nothing more rewarding than watching someone you trained flourish, gain confidence, and become the surgical tech you knew they could be. 🥹👏🏾
A great preceptor doesn’t create competition. They help build the next generation. 🩺✨

It’s a different world than where you come from.

Are we losing the skills, instincts, and knowledge that make a GREAT surgical technologist? Or has the profession changed so much that we’re forgetting the fundamentals? 🤔

Gotta be versatile as a traveler.
