We are a really terrific, PARENT-LED, truly co-operative homeschool community located in East Dallas neighborhood. We are secular and inclusive, which means that we welcome diverse families and kiddos. We have families who practice different religions and some who practice little to none at all; we do no religious practice together.

Our co-op offers a community for socializing & enrichment. We meet on most Fridays during the "academic" year, September through May, and offer parent-led enrichment classes with a variety of themes. These classes are created with input from our member adults and students so the offerings vary each semester, but typically include things like arts & crafts, games, P.E., social sciences, science, etc. They are FUN!

We also do parties, field trips, campouts, and casual park days!

…and that’s a wrap! Last Friday, May 3, was our end-of-the-semester party and science fair. It was super fun with field day activities and water squirting galore. The Kickball students even played a game against the moms. The kids won! The weekend before, HSE camped at Tyler State Park. It was beautiful and relaxing. Please join us for our park days and get togethers throughout the summer.

Our last day of classes this semester was so bittersweet. Nursery had fun creating “cupcakes” out of Playdoh, Botany transplanted their own mini herb gardens and got to keep a natural loofah sponge, Mini Microbiology looked at mushrooms grown in class and made Playdoh tardigrades, and Science Snacks created the layers of the Earth’s crust with Oreos, pudding, candied worms, etc! Stay tuned for photos of our camping trip at Tyler State Park, our end-of-the-semester party, and Science Fair.

Our semester is close to an end, and it is so bittersweet! In addition to our open house last week, Mini Microbiology created art with mushrooms, Botany learned about the different parts of a fruit (and then ate some fruit, haha), and Preschool is continuing their insect unit and exploring playdoh. Also included are two photos from our Easter egg hunt at Lakewood Park. Come check us out this Friday for another open house!

We do fun things! We sew. We dress up as our favorite book characters. We celebrate our friends’ birthdays. We create the water cycle with candy, climb trees, study the parts of a leaf and plants, and investigate microscopic creatures. Most importantly, we build friendships. Come learn and have fun with us!
