From taking radiographs (x-rays), sterilizing instruments and taking impressions for study models to office skills such as scheduling appointments and answering the phone, students at the DCDS Dental Assisting School learn to maximize skills to become valued and contributing members of the dental team. In addition to working well with other members of the dental team, helping patients feel comfort

able during treatment is a large part of the job description of a dental assistant. Each of our students is matched with a dental office to receive real world experience outside the classroom. Full-time or part-time employment is possible with a variety of job responsibilities and tasks. If you enjoy working with your hands and you want an exciting career with important and respected responsibilities, dental assisting may be right for you!
