Greetings Nova Families,
These have been difficult times. COVID-19 has presented persistent challenges for students, teachers, staff and the community as we attempt to navigate through one of the most complex crises to face the business of education. We believe that the best way to work through a crisis is together – and together is how we will move forward as we plan to “Return to School.”
We have been faced with difficult decisions about what school will look like and how we will provide the best education for all students. When we return to school on September 8, 2020, our plan will begin with 100% virtual instruction through October 6, 2020. When it is safe, we will add in-person instruction. The Nova Academy Board of Trustees have agreed to follow the guidelines of Judge Clay Jenkins, health authorities and surrounding districts. We will keep you informed of changes along the way.
Thank you for your patience, commitment and partnership as we return to school for the 2020-2021 school year.
Sincerely,
Nova Academy

Q: What will be Nova Academy’s school hours for the SY20-21?
A: Nova’s new school hours will be 8am – 3pm for students
Q: Will afterschool care be provided?
A: Not at this time.
Q: What is the time frame that parents have to make a choice for online vs in person option?
A: Because of the updates that have been made, we ask that parents make a choice no later
than August 28, 2020.
Q: What are the plans for the upcoming school year for re-opening?
A: Nova Academy is planning to re-open on September 8, 2020 servicing both in-person
and online learning. Students will be required to wear masks or protective face shields
during the day. Also, we installed more hand sanitizer stations and Plexi-glass
partitions on student desks and in the front office to help with protecting our students
and staff. Nova will be taking every precautionary measure to ensure our students
and staff are safe when they return. For more information on re-opening, please plan to
attend our Meet the teacher Night on September 3 virtually. Details on the website.
Q: What will be the process for students or staff when they first arrive to school?
A: Students and staff will have their temperatures checked each morning before entering the building to ensure they do not have a fever. Once they are cleared, they will be allowed to go to their designated areas. However, if any student has a fever, they will not be allowed to remain at school. Parents will need to be prepared to take their student home in the event he/she has a fever. To ensure we are following the social distance guidelines, markers have been installed on the floors.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
The Nova Academy Board of Trustees have agreed to follow the guidelines of Judge Clay Jenkins, health authorities and surrounding districts to delay the start of school until after Labor Day. Nova Academy will begin school on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, offering both virtual and face-to-face learning. Please note our new school hours are from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. This decision comes after weeks of conversations and collaboration regarding the pandemic and to ensure we are taking the proper safeguards towards ensuring a successful learning environment for all our students and staff.
We are committed to providing our students with a quality education during these uncertain times. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to lead safely into the 2020-2021 school year.
Sincerely,
Nova Academy
