The Temple Emanu-El ECEC provides a developmental program that is play-based and nature inspired for We believe that children have an innate curiosity to learn.

The Temple Emanu-El ECEC is a child-centered approach to early childhood education with an emphasis on a balanced curriculum. It seeks to develop the "whole child" focusing on cognitive, physical, social, emotional and creative activities. Our nature-based curriculum benefits learners of all modalities through hands-on experiences both indoors and out.

🍎🐝🍯 Things are getting sticky, squishy, and oh-so-sensory in Mishpachat Parparim!

These twos are taking a deep dive into Rosh Hashanah through playful morning provocations—scooping and swirling with honey dippers in gooey slime, helping bees find their hive, and getting up close and personal with apples as they explore them with all five senses.

Honey, bees, apples…sounds like Rosh Hashanah is on it's way!

This morning’s Shabbat was extra special. ✨ We gathered as a school family, heard Rabbi Lewis blow the shofar, and celebrated the joy of Shabbat together.
We also had the honor of celebrating our incredible educator Maricela Garcia, marking 40 years of teaching, inspiring, and nurturing generations of children. ❤️

Last night, our school was buzzing with connection, discovery, and community magic! ✨

Families caught up with old friends, made new ones, and got a peek inside their children’s classrooms to see the learning, exploring, and creating happening each day.

Then it was time to grab a scavenger hunt and explore! 🔎 Families ventured through our specialist classrooms, discovering something new around every corner.

This morning’s honey provocation invited children in the Yeladim Bateva class to explore open-ended materials, make connections, and follow their own ideas. A Reggio-inspired moment where there is no single way to create—just endless possibilities for wondering, discovering, and imagining.

One of the gifts of our kehillah (community) is celebrating life’s most meaningful moments together. 💕

This Shabbat, our ECEC community surrounded our Senior Director Meagan and her fiancée Joe with love, brachot, and joy as they prepare for their wedding next weekend.

Our children are using all five of their senses to explore Gan Shalom with Ilanit this week. They are tasting fresh okra, smelling tarragon, feeling leaves with different textures, listening to the sounds of nature, and spotting eggplants growing in the garden. They even discovered one of our resident turtles! 🐢

So much to notice, wonder about, and discover in Gan Shalom. 🌱

This morning in Pre-K Chaverim, a simple question sparked big thinking: Can you make a mosaic? Inspired by the work of artist Alma Thomas, children explored color, shape, pattern, and composition as they created their own interpretations.

Provocations like this invite children to wonder, experiment, make choices, and follow their ideas. There isn’t one right answer—just an open-ended invitation to see where their thinking takes them.

🎶✨ We kicked off the school year with our first Shabbat together—and what an incredible way to begin!
With Rabbi Lewis, Meagan, and our new song leader, Jacob Fishman, the singing was joyful, the energy was high, and The Shabbat Club was officially in session. 🎵
