The author of Mi cocina Mexicana - “My Mexican Kitchen” and Oak Cliff neighbor, Joanna Márquez-Espinoza, read her new Children’s book to our guests from St. Cecilia. Latinos Unidos sponsored this community book read and it’s members organized a crafts and conversation session about cultural foods and community. Everyone had a blast!

The Gold Award is the highest honor you can receive as a Girl Scout. "It is a 80 hour take-action project that is sustainable in your community. I worked with the elderly community in my church to help declutter their homes if they are incapable. I then donated all items to Saint Vincent De Paul to help those who are in need. I have been in Girl Scouts for 13 years so it was very exciting to finally receive this anticipated award."
