Paul Quinn College is a private, faith-based, four-year, liberal arts-inspired college that was founded on April 4, 1872 by a group of African Methodist Episcopal Church preachers in Austin, Texas. The school’s original purpose was to educate freed slaves and their offspring. Our mission is to provide a quality, faith

-based education that addresses the academic, social, and Christian development of students. It is one of the nation’s consortium of Historically Black Colleges and Universities as well as the nation's first urban Work College in the Work College consortium. Members of the College’s student body, alumni, faculty and staff, called Quinnites, embrace the institutional ethos of “WE over Me” and are dedicated to honouring the “Four Ls of Quinnite Leadership,” which are: Leave places better than you found them; Lead from wherever you are; Live a life that matters; and Love something greater than yourself.

Summer break or not, our Quinnites keep building the relationships and skills that set them up for what's next. Let's go, Alana and TJ! 💛 💙

"Every Quinnite is an Entrepreneur has taught me the importance of identifying my audience and clearly communicating the value of what I produce and building a brand around an original idea." - Jamie Randolph, Sophomore

This week for National Black Business Month, we're highlighting Archive [5], a business created by Jamie Randolph. His idea includes letters, coded messages, hidden clues, and more that create an immersive mystery experience.

We're so proud to watch our rising Quinnites develop such unique companies alongside their academics! 💛

This week, Women's Business Enterprise National Council - WBENC was on campus! 🔥

WBENC stopped by to introduce Quinnites to the Entrepreneur Incubator, a program that turns big ideas into real businesses through mentorship and seed funding.

Between classroom visits and stories from past participants now serving as program ambassadors, our future founders got a first look at what's next. Shoutout to Southwest Airlines for sponsoring this inspiring program.

Cohort applications are due this Friday! https://bit.ly/45ZlogU

Let's give it up for Zahiyah Carter, a senior at Paul Quinn, whose byline has appeared in the Associated Press, The Washington Post, and The Texas Tribune - to name a few!

As a Dallas Press Club Foundation reporting fellow at The Texas Tribune, Zahiyah recently covered a new state policy banning prison inmates from receiving hardback and used books. State officials say the policy will curb contraband entering facilities, but advocates and some inmates argue it significantly expands the thousands of books already banned from prisoners.

Zahiyah keeps writing about what matters and pushes the boundaries of what's possible for Quinnites. Way to go! 👏

Kevin started baking for his parents during the pandemic, but now serves the DFW Metroplex with his online site. He states that Every Quinnite is an Entrepreneur has taught him that success comes from initiative, resilience, and innovation.
