I’m really excited to be part of the GYTO Nationals presenter lineup this year!
Swipe through to learn a little more about me, what I’ll be presenting, and a few teacher facts.
Teaching alongside so many passionate educators is such an honor, and I can’t wait to learn, grow, and bring the energy with thousands of teachers this summer.
Who’s coming?! 👇🏽

Can we say it’s spooky season yet? On Monday, I found out that our favorite Goosebumps stories have graphic novel editions! I shared it with my third graders readers today and it’s already become the must read book with the spooky readers!

Hello, Year 15!
Just wrapped up our first day of school — filled with Play-Doh, reading, notebook decorating, and practicing all the little things that make our days run smoothly.
I’m so excited… but y’all, please remind me about this post when October rolls around and I’m exhausted. Ha.

I’m not great at taking photos at …but I am great at collecting everyone else’s! So grateful for a space where I get to share 15 years of classroom stories, lessons, and what’s working in my instruction with fellow educators. It fills me up and gets me fired up for another year with my future third graders!
Huge thanks to everyone who showed up, asked thoughtful questions, shared ideas, and helped make GYTO Dallas another unforgettable part of the summer!
To everyone in these photos, and those not pictured but we talked in Dallas- thank you! 😘

The full moon this week almost took me out, but today I found a note from a student comparing me to Roz.
It was just what I needed to turn things around—a nice reminder that I’m programmed to survive after all!

Here are seven photos to celebrate my first seven days of the school year! I was officially named a “silly goose” by a student, we created an action plan for our reading lives, and I even found a flour tortilla in my classroom…that no one claimed. I’m exhausted from all the thinking, and everything hurts, but I loved every minute of it. Cheers to the weekend!

Mini Japan photo dump to help with my post-trip sadness!
We had the time of our life this summer.
We explored the country, visited schools, ate delicious food, and made memories we’ll cherish forever.
I don’t know how I got so lucky to work with , but I’m forever grateful.
While it was hard to say goodbye to this amazing group of humans, I don’t have to say goodbye to Japan just yet! Next summer, I’m returning to lead TWO TRIPS in Japan! Even better, they will be Disney-focused trips! If you’ve ever considered seeing Japan with a group of educators, this is your sign! 🍙✌🏾😎

This summer, I fell in love, and her name is Tokyo, Japan.
The teacher travelers are arriving soon, and then we will begin our Japan adventures! Together, we’ll learn about the history of Japan, its culture, and visit schools! I’m so grateful to be here.

I love being a teacher.
I’m grateful to experience and share my knowledge with other educators at . This space brings joy, celebration, and, most importantly, knowledge to better help the students we serve.
Let’s do it again soon! ✨

Kids can humble you in a heartbeat!
I decided to try these Crocs, thinking I could combine comfort and professionalism in the classroom.
As the kids were unpacking today, one student said, 'Are those Mickey Mouse Crocs? You look just like Mickey Mouse!' So I processed to save my fashion choice by telling the students that Mickey is a fashion icon. They didn’t buy it. 🫠🐭
Cheers to getting old and choosing comfort over fashion.
