This session emphasizes repeatable habits, templates, and take-home examples you can apply immediately in projects and portfolios.

Our multi-disciplinary program trains designers from diverse backgrounds who research, empathize, and act. They don’t just learn design — they do it.

Fall semester is officially in full swing! 🍂

1. We’re back and can’t believe it’s our 10th year! Get ready for lots of new content celebrating this year and the years before.
2. We love welcoming our new students with new tools! The red box of MADI supplies has been a staple for seven years.
3. We also wouldn’t be a true design program without access to an amazing makerspace, the !
4. Our Intro to Human-Centered Design (HCD) class is always full of new groups, activities, design methods, and presentations.
5. This semester, in Design Studio for Social Impact, we’re working on empowering urban farmers to participate in the larger food system in Dallas. Our students had the pleasure of visiting for an in-depth tour! 🌱
6. There’s nothing like taking an inspiration break on our own SMU campus. We were lucky enough to get an amazing docent tour at with our Capstone students as they look for conceptual inspiration while developing their own full-scale design research projects. 🖼️

What a way to end the semester! The students crushed it on the 7/11 studio project—so impressed by their creativity and presentations. Cheers to finishing strong!
