Helping students learn about STEM through automotive themed initiatives

10/09/2025

What a great weekend in Dallas! I had gone out there to meet with a couple of connections I made on LinkedIn. This first post I wanted to highlight my meeting with Justin Atherton.

Justin and I recently had a zoom call and we spoke about “getting to the point” both in life, conversations, and (in my case) events. He’s currently writing a book called “How to get to the damn point” which meshes perfectly with what I’m doing in the event space.

We met for dinner at The Ranch in Irving, Tx. During that dinner, I learned SO much about the psychology behind emotional intelligence and how to leverage that in everyday conversation. Justin travels all over the nation coaching people on leadership skills and teaching them how to get to the point when talking to others.

One thing he mentioned is that instead of giving all your info upfront, make the conversation about the other person. Ask them questions to encourage further conversation and intrigue them to do the same. While this may sound basic to some, this is something I believe we all struggle with at times. This holds its weight in gold when you’re trying to create value in your conversation with someone.

I’m currently working on developing a very unique venture that helps people cut the fluff and get straight to the point. If you’re looking for leadership coaching or even if you’re just curious about what that entails, I encourage you to connect with Justin and be on the look out for his new book release (“How to get to the damn point”) coming soon!

I met an awesome student racing team yesterday and I’m fired up!

Cougar Racing at University of Houston are wrapping up their 2021 racecar and gearing up for a brand-new build. These cars aren’t kits… they’re built from the ground up by students and powered by a street-bike engine. They built the frame, suspension, and other various components to make them drivable.

A few things that stood out to me:

- Serious nationwide competitions with real engineering and racing knowledge.
- A cool simulator setup for testing runs and dialing in performance for the real car.
- Mentors guide the students through design, fabrication, and safety.
-The big vision: Expand to a full fleet of cars so they can compete against more schools.

I should’ve recorded the conversation. There was so much gold in how they’re teaching problem-solving, teamwork, and real-world engineering. Big thank you to Patrick Sanchez for taking the time to meet with us and give us this awesome demonstration. I’ll be sure to make another post with a video of the car running!

I’m very excited to be working with this amazing group of individuals with my STEM initiative, STEM and Supercars. If you’re in education, motorsports, or passionate about STEM, let’s connect. They’re looking for partners, sponsors, and collaborators to help scale this program and put more young engineers on the grid!

A one of one Ferrari just sold for $26M and 100% of the proceeds went to future educational initiatives.

In every era, the most inspiring creations are those that blend heritage, innovation, and a mission greater than themselves. A perfect example is the 2025 Ferrari Daytona SP3 Tailor Made which was recently featured at RM Sotheby's Monterey auction.

This is not just any supercar. It is the only additional car beyond Ferrari’s already sold-out production run of 599 Icona-series models, making it a true one-of-one. It features a bold two-tone Giallo Modena and exposed carbon fiber livery along with Ferrari’s logotype stretching across the entire body for the first time in history.

The interior includes upholstery made from recycled tire fabric and design elements inspired by Ferrari’s Formula 1 engineering. All showcasing a future-focused approach to performance and sustainability.

What makes this vehicle even more extraordinary is its purpose. Ferrari is donating the full proceeds to The Ferrari Foundation, which supports educational programs and rebuilding efforts, including the restoration of a school damaged by the Eaton wildfire.

What inspires me most is not just the design or performance, but the commitment to using excellence as a platform to empower the next generation.

When craftsmanship, purpose, and community come together, we do more than create icons… we create legacies.

Let us keep building a future where innovation serves education and excellence inspires opportunity. How are you empowering the next generation?

🏁 What is the Apex? 🏁

It’s the sweet spot in a turn. The tightest point where drivers cut in to carry the fastest possible exit speed.
💡 Hit it right = max speed + control
❌ Miss it = slower lap, lost positions

📈 Master the apex. Master your lap time.

🚗💻 Did you know today’s supercars are basically rolling computers?
They’re not just about horsepower anymore. Supercars combine software engineering, electronics, and data science to perform at the highest level.

🔍 Check out these mind-blowing facts:

• In 2010, the average car had about 10 million lines of code.
• By 2016, that number skyrocketed to 100–150 million, according to McKinsey.
• Bosch reports that today’s average car still carries around 100 million lines, and fully autonomous vehicles may reach 300–500 million lines in the future.
• Even an F-35 fighter jet only has about 8–25 million lines of code!

At STEM & Supercars, we show students how coding, engineering, and innovation power the real world from racetracks to runways.

📚💡 Ready to inspire the next generation of tech leaders? Let’s get them excited about what’s under the hood and behind the screen.

We’re glad we ran into Quanteria at the Tech Fest Live event yesterday! While there, she told us a little bit about what the NAACP is.

The NAACP is deeply involved in advocating for educational equity and improving the quality of education for all students, particularly students of color. They also are all about growing community and creating opportunities for students.

We’re excited to see what possibilities are ahead with collaborating with NAACP!

Having a growth mindset is the core of STEM. Real engineering isn’t about perfection… it’s about iteration and progress. Join us as we harness that mindset and teach the next generation that supercars are just one example of how progress outweighs perfection.
