Since our opening in 1999, The Kessler School has grown to become the pride of Oak Cliff. One reason for this is because our teachers are second to none, and truly the heartbeat of The Kessler School.

Señor Mendez, who has taught at TKS for 23 years, has a small poster outside of his classroom that reads:
“A hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove – but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."

Did you know that the idea for the Day School, which would eventually become The Kessler School, was first introduced by Reverend J.W. Sprinkle of the Kessler Park Methodist Church in the early 1960s? Because of his visionary leadership, and with the support of the congregation, the KPUMC Day School opened in 1965.
