The mission of the chapter is to “Promote, Support and Provide Service to Prairie View A&M University“. The Dallas Chapter sponsors 2 major events annually.

The Dallas Prairie View Alumni Chapter was formed in 1970’s. The Annual Scholarship Gala which in its 25th year history has raised more than $1,000,000 in scholarship funds which benefits the Clever Dean Lewis Scholarship Fund , named for a past president. More than $200,000 in scholarships have been awarded to Dallas area graduating seniors accepted to Prairie View for their freshman year of college.

Recent Prairie View A&M University graduate Nickolos L. Hall, who earned a degree in Agriculture (Agribusiness) from the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, was named the first PVAMU student selected for the United Negro College Fund Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Scholarship.
