For our jelly bean craft I couldn’t pass up the jelly bean prayer activity. But instead of coloring them, we sorted and glued pom poms inside! Then we read the prayer for each color.✝️🫘

Funny Story Friday
(One day early because this one has been on my mind lately 🤭)

*we’ve just come in from afternoon recess, we’re all sitting together on the rug drinking cups of water to re-hydrate, when unbeknownst to me, a child spills some water on the rug, a different 3 year old boy gets up and goes to sit right where the water was spilled, he immediately stands up and looks behind him at his own butt*

3 y/o boy: MISS COURTNEY.😠

Me, already knowing where this is going, or so I thought: yes, hun?

3: *spins around angrily, to show me his butt*
SOMEBODY JUST PI**ED MY PANTS 🤬

I just love including fine motor & sensory experiences into arts & crafts time.🎨 a cotton candy craft with dyed cotton balls (food coloring and water, soak them, squeeze them, leave them out to dry) tear them apart until it’s a pile of fluff, and glue the fluff to a cotton candy template! From here you can either leave it as is, or cut the cotton candy out and glue it to a piece of construction paper for an added pop!

A handprint fruit wall is a simple, creative way to combine art, literacy, and healthy eating in a preschool cafeteria.

By assigning a different fruit to each letter of the alphabet, children are exposed to new vocabulary, letter recognition, and a variety of fruits they may have never heard of before.

The colorful handprints immediately capture children's attention and make the cafeteria feel warm, welcoming, and student-centered because the artwork is created by the children themselves.

It also creates natural opportunities for conversations about nutrition, healthy food choices, colors, and the alphabet during meal times.

Most importantly, projects like this help children take pride in their work while transforming an ordinary cafeteria wall into an engaging educational display that supports learning long after the paint has dried.
