Teachers are the heart of our schools! 🍎 And the best way you can directly impact the hiring and retention of excellent educators is supporting the HP Education Foundation's Mad for Plaid campaign. HPEF has pledged $1.9 million to HPISD for teacher and staff salary support for 2026-2027 and we can't do it without you!

Thank you to students from the HPISD 18+ and Transition Program who helped assemble over 100 Mad for Plaid yard signs! 🪧

We are grateful for your hard work, which helps prepare our volunteers for their upcoming sign delivery routes. Thank you! 👏

Have you heard about the Mad for Plaid Leadership Society? Comprised of supporters who make annual gifts to Mad for Plaid of $10,000 or more, this group is the cornerstone of our annual giving campaign – significantly investing in the excellence of HPISD and setting an example of leadership that inspires our community of Scots to give.

Members receive a special yard sign and will be invited to a Leadership Society luncheon with key HPISD leaders, as well as our annual Patron Party. Read more about Mad for Plaid, our giving levels, and how your donation will make a major impact: hpef.org/mad-for-plaid 💛🍎💙

Every Mad for Plaid donor in the Park Cities will be given a yard sign to display! 🪧 After we receive your donation, volunteers will deliver your sign within about 3 weeks (for gifts made now through January). We love seeing these our signs throughout the community, especially at each school campus!

Want a sign in your yard by Thanksgiving? Please donate by November 6 (as our volunteers take a break the week of Thanksgiving)! Give at hpef.org/mad-for-plaid 🍂

The Golden Scots Reunion took place at HPHS on Saturday, October 3. HPHS alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago were invited to attend the luncheon, marking the 32nd year of this special tradition!

Attendees toured the high school with current students, browsed old yearbooks, and enjoyed remarks from Dr. Mike Rockwood (HPISD Superintendent), Meg Jones Boyd ’96 (HPEF Executive Director), and Amanda Harkey Kalescky ’02 (Alumni Association President). They were also treated to an entertaining talk and “Day in the Life” video from Zach Jackson (HPHS Senior) and enjoyed a wonderful lunch, while reconnecting with fellow alumni. 🎊

A special thank you to Tracy Goodwin Flint ’90 (Director of HPHS Alumni Relations) for organizing such a memorable event. We are also grateful to everyone who attended, alumni association volunteers who helped with set-up, and student volunteers from the HPHS Ambassadors, HPHS Student Council, and HPEF Student Leadership Board who helped make the day such a success.
