Last week, our faculty and staff had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Lucy Smith, a licensed psychologist and GSES alumni parent, during a thoughtful and timely Summer Mental Health Reset session. ☀️🧠

Dr. Smith shared practical strategies for prioritizing well-being, embracing self-compassion, and making the most of the summer months as a time to rest, recharge, and reflect. Her presentation offered valuable reminders about the importance of caring for ourselves so we can continue to show up fully for those around us.

We are grateful to Dr. Smith for sharing her expertise and helping our faculty and staff enter the summer season with renewed perspective, balance, and purpose.

Our faculty & staff returned from Memorial Day weekend on Tuesday by putting faith into action through a morning of service across the Dallas community.

Individuals spent the morning serving at various local organizations including Brother Bill’s Helping Hand, Carter BloodCare, Community Partners of Dallas, Family Gateway, Texas Conservation Alliance & Friends of the Northaven Trail, Genesis Benefit Thrift Store, Hope Supply, North Texas Food Bank, Operation Kindness, Senior Source/Treemont Healthcare & Rehab Center, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church (Kerrville), The Stewpot, and VNA Meals on Wheels.

Thank you to Dr. May for organizing such a meaningful day of outreach and service, where the “serving with compassion” pillar of our school mission was truly on display.

Last week, members of our returned to campus for the Hopkins Gymnasium Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony! Following the all-school celebration, the group gathered in the courtyard to reconnect with classmates and former teachers while exploring exciting new additions to campus.

It was so special to welcome them back, cheer on all they’ve accomplished over the past four years, and hear about the paths they’ll soon begin this fall. We are incredibly proud of this class and wish them continued success in all that lies ahead!

Last week, our eighth grade Division I boys’ basketball team and Division I volleyball team both came away victorious in the annual student-versus-faculty & staff matchups! 🏐🏀

The basketball team secured a 36-20 win over the faculty & staff, while the volleyball team earned a 2-0 victory (25-23, 25-18). Congratulations to the Class of 2026 on two exciting wins!

These games also marked the first unofficial athletic contests held inside our brand-new Hopkins Gymnasium, making the occasion even more memorable.
