Repost I love book, and here is one of his illustrations that is key to understanding where you are vs. what mindset you need to quit your job and launch your own business.
The E in the quadrant is Employee mindset and is someone who values security over freedom. The need for stability and the benefits of insurance and having a 401k etc. While there are benefits to being an employee (and we need people to be employees) if you find your mind defaulting to the need of security it will hinder you from launching your own business.
The S stands for self-employed or small business owner. This is someone who owns a job - like an attorney, their value or business is their self or reputation. An example would be an attorney who builds a reputation for winning in a certain area of law, but he could never sell his business because the value of what he provides are his skills.
