On May 9th, students from the band programs at LaCreole Middle School and Dallas High School came together to march in the St.John's Parade in St.Johns, Portland!
While our groups have performed in parades before on floats/trailers, this is the first time in over 30 years that the band has marched and performed in a parade! In fact, the last time the band marched in a parade was when Dallas High School traveled to Vienna under the direction of John Skelton.
Our students worked incredibly hard to pull this off and I could not be more proud of them. Pulling this off would not have been possible without the support of everyone across the district. I also want to shout out the Dallas Education Foundation - their grant directly supported this event by allowing us to invest in essential marching band equipment. We look forward to more parades ahead and bringing more live music to our community.
