That they wont need us anymore.

In reality? They just need us DIFFERENTLY. My dad texts me to cover my outside lawn hose spouts so pipes wont freeze.

This skill is crucial. Can your your “Nearly grown” child learn, practice and level up on networking? Absolutely.

Call it people skills, social skills, or more simply getting to know and help others. Whatever you call it, the sooner they practice and get comfortable with this, the more they can help others and themselves.

Before i answer, the benefits for our older kids?
✔️ $ management
✔️ a meal they can cook when grown
✔️ another notch in self-confidence


By now you know . . . have them pick a night that fits their busy schedule and get them to plan, shop, and cook a meal. Let them choose BUT a theme night, or a meal they can ultimately create later in their own apartment us your goal.

At our house we started with eggs and bacon.
