Today, our school community gathered for Ash Wednesday Mass. As we received the ashes, we were reminded of our humility and the call to repentance. Let us journey together through this sacred season, embracing prayer, fasting, and almsgiving with open hearts.

Do you know your Jesuit history?! ๐ ๐ซ
Location #1 (freshman level): Original Pillar from the Oak Lawn Campus. ๐๏ธ
This stone is a cornerstone from the original Oak Lawn campus. During the demolition of the original campus, masonry pieces were sold to offset costs โ many alums purchased pieces as mementos. Decades later the Class of 1963 brough the piece back home where it now sits as the base to our St. Ignatius statue in the Prayer Garden.
Location #2 (sophomore level): Pegasus Sculpture ๐ด
In 2002, as part of the Dallas Soars! citywide art project, a 30-foot sculpture was constructed at the back of the School by eight alums. Containing a giant fiberglass Pegasus, D. Tillery โ83 engineered the horse to rotate 30 degrees and as a result fly with the wind โ residing in what resembles Reunion Tower. The retired mascot can be seen on the belly of the Pegasus. Located outside of the Longwell Science Labs it now is near the temporary โfrontโ entrance of the school, due to construction.
Location #3 (junior level): Gym Cross โ๏ธ
When the St. Rita campus was being constructed, a trunk from an old oak tree, planted by Jesuits, was saved in hopes of commemorating the once shared land. Alums Spencer โ11 and Dane โ10 Adamson volunteered to turn the piece of wood into the Jesuit Cross which now hangs in the gym with illuminating lights glowing from behind.
Location #4 (senior level): Ticket from First Theater Performance: โTwelfth Nightโ ๐ญ
After being stored away for decades, our archives department decided to display the original ticket to Jesuitโs first school production of โTwelfth Nightโ in the lobby of the Melsheimer Family Theater. During our current construction, the lobby is also utilized as the math lab, allowing students being tutored a close-up view of our history.

We are truly grateful for our devoted community and were overjoyed to celebrate a beam signing ceremony with campaign leadership for Ad Majorem: The Campaign for Jesuit Dallas. The signing of the beam โ which included Jesuits, board members, faculty, staff, and student representatives โ serves as a celebration of all that we have accomplished and a reminder to refocus our energy toward the completion of the single-largest commitment ever toward the academic and spiritual formation of our students.
