The Upper School Chemistry class has been learning about the fundamentals of emissions spectroscopy, a technique that analyzes the wavelengths of light emitted by electrons when they transition from an excited state to a lower energy state. Students were testing elements and seeing what elements have a specific color. The students loved making the connection that this is what makes all the different colors in fireworks.

Our 3rd graders have been learning about Texas History in class so they headed out this past Monday on a field trip to the Fort Worth Stock Show. While they were there they got to experience real Cowboys in action, they learned about what they do on the ranch and where some of our food comes from.
