Welcome Mr. Wilson!!!!

Mr. Mike Wilson is joining Highland Park ISD as the new Associate Band Director at Highland Park Middle School. Prior to coming to Highland Park, he served as Assistant Director of Bands at Marshall Middle School in Beaumont ISD, Assistant Director of Bands for Whitney ISD, and Director of Bands in Safford Unified School District in Arizona.

Mr. Wilson graduated from Milford High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Ohio University. While at Ohio University, he was a member of the Marching 110, the Tuba and Euphonium Studio, and the Symphonic Band. He also marched with the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps.

His professional affiliations include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the Texas Music Educators Association, and the Texas Bandmasters Association.

We are excited to welcome Mr. Wilson to the Highland Park Band family and look forward to the experience, energy, and leadership he will bring to our middle school students and staff.

Happy National Band Director’s Day to the people who do far more than teach music.
Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, long bus rides, endless rehearsals, and the constant belief you pour into your students every single day. Band directors teach discipline, confidence, resilience, and heart; often without recognition, but never without impact.

Years from now, students may not remember every performance, but they will remember the people who believed in them and gave them a place to belong.
Thank you for changing lives through music.
