Summer 2026 Tourism & Hospitality Internship Program – City of Dallas Convention & Event Services

Looking for more than just an internship? The City of Dallas invites college students to gain real-world experience at the heart of one of the fastest-growing tourism and hospitality markets in the country.

Join our 10-week, paid summer internship program designed to give you hands-on experience, individualized mentorship, and professional development with leading partners including Oak View Group, Omni Dallas Hotel, and Visit Dallas.

Program Highlights:
✅ Paid, 320-hour internship ($21/hour)
✅ Job shadowing & experiential learning
✅ One-on-one mentorship
✅ Professional development workshops
✅ Opportunity for course credit

Who We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking undergraduate students (rising sophomores and juniors preferred) enrolled at Dallas-area colleges or universities, curious about careers in tourism, hospitality, events, communications, business, or technology.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, eager to learn, and passionate about community impact through hospitality and events.

Eligibility:
🎓 Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university (Dallas-area preferred)
📍 Able to commit to the full 10-week program (includes possible evenings/weekends)

This 10-week internship program seeks motivated undergraduate juniors and seniors, as well as master’s degree students, who are dedicated to developing new ideas that will help drive our business. Interns will gain real work experience applicable to their major and career. The program offers opportunities to collaborate on cross-functional projects, interact with and receive mentoring from senior-level managers, and build friendships while creating a strong network with a cohort of interns from universities across the country. Eligibility requires having 48 credit hours at the time of application.
