This week we celebrated our 2025 Employee Awards, taking time to recognize some truly outstanding members of the University of Texas at Dallas Police Department. What makes these awards especially meaningful is that the winners are selected by their peers--the people who work alongside them and see their dedication, professionalism, and commitment firsthand.

🎉 Celebrating Two Well-Deserved Retirements! 🎉

August 31st marked a very special day at the University of Texas at Dallas Police Department as we said congratulations and farewell to two incredible members of our UTD PD family.

Billy Burleson retired after 10 years of dedicated service as a Public Safety Officer. Billy, thank you for a decade of hard work, commitment, and for helping keep our campus community safe. Your contributions to UTD PD will not be forgotten!

Sergeant Misty Boyd retired after an incredible 28 years of service to the University of Texas at Dallas. Misty, your dedication, leadership, and commitment to our department and the UTD community have left an incredible legacy. Nearly three decades of service is truly something to celebrate!

Together, Billy and Misty represent an amazing 38 years of combined service to UTD!

Please join us in congratulating Billy Burleson and Sergeant Misty Boyd on their retirements and wishing them both the very best as they begin this exciting new chapter!
