Save the date!
Happy Terrific Tuesday, Trojans!
As we go about our day, let's remember Galatians 6:10: "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." God holds us responsible for how we treat others and each other. Let's spread kindness and love in all we do. Have a blessed day!

In honor of Black History month I wanted to feature a man who dedicated his life to education. Dr. Thomas Tolbert served as the First Principal of L.G. Pinkston High School. L.G. Pinkston was the FIRST High School in West Dallas which opened in the fall of 1964.
Dr. Tolbert was affiliated with many professional and civic organizations, among them are: North Texas Teachers Association, The Texas State Teachers Association, The National Educators Association, The school Administrators Club, The Dallas Negro Chamber of Commerce, the Moorland Branch YMCA, Free and Accepted Masons, Knight of Pythias, the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, an honorary member of the Pylon Salesmanship club of Dallas.
Dr. Thomas most distinguished award came in 1963 the year before Pinkston opened, where as principal of James Madison High School, The Croft Educational Services of New London Connecticut, named Thomas Tolbert National Secondary Principal of the Year. The selection was made by various secondary schools of the nation.
An Honorary Doctor of Law Degree was conferred upon Dr. Thomas Tolbert by Bishop College, Dallas, Texas on May 26, 1964.
Dr. Tolbert served as a mentor to many of the Principals in DISD in subsequent years.
