Did you know that many Risepoint colleagues attend or graduate from the same universities where they support students every day? Denisia Simpkins, a Risepoint Senior Student Retention Specialist, is one of those teammates, as a recent graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Employee spotlight: Denisia Simpkins earns her own degree through our partner university Did you know that many Risepoint employees attend or graduate from the same universities where they support students every day?

The Risepoint PR & Communications team gathered in Chicago for a few days of strategy, service, and, most importantly, team bonding!

There were a few highlights of the team's time together! One was meeting with teammates from the Student Success Center, who shared insights that they gather from conversations with our partners' students.

Another highlight was a service activity supporting DupagePads, an organization that is on a mission to end homelessness through housing coupled with support services and employment. Our team assembled kits of toiletries, as those are in such high need in the populations they serve.

Last week, more than 250 Risepoint teammates in the U.S., Australia and United Kingdom gathered in-person or virtually to make their communities a better place! Their service activities are aligned with our mission of making education and essential resources more accessible.

Here, Dr. Lynne Bongiovanni Provost at the University of Mount Saint Vincent, shares how a partnership with Risepoint enables them to educate working parents.

Shena Reed graduated with her MBA from Henderson State and shared her motivation for earning her degree, “I'm always looking to better myself, which is one of the reasons I was so persistent in wanting to do this program. And not just for me, but for my family. I have five girls, and I just always want to be a good example to them.”

Dr. Kezia Lilly, Senior Director of the Risepoint Healthcare Center of Excellence (COE), has been a nurse for nearly 25 years and a higher education administrator for 11 years. Now, she uses her firsthand experience to provide insightful recommendations and resources to Risepoint partners to deliver excellence in nursing education.

Today’s learners are busy, have competing demands for their attention, seek education that will help them professionally, and may be working already. As Fernando Bleichmar stated in a ASU+GSV Summit panel, regional universities must adapt to meet the needs of emerging modern learners.

In honor of Nurses Week, we spoke with members of our Healthcare Center of Excellence. These teammates all started their careers in nursing and are dedicated to supporting our partners' nursing programs. Learn more about how their experiences as nurses helped shape their work here at Risepoint:

Nurses have a lasting impact on their local communities. Dr. Cassandra Elliott, Doctor of Nursing Practice Education graduate of Risepoint partner Arkansas State University, is a wonderful example of the dedication of nurses and nurse educators.

Access to high-quality nursing education is particularly critical in rural areas where nursing shortages can significantly impact community healthcare. We're proud to partner with the University of Jamestown, who also partners with Sanford Health to provide nursing students clinical and career support. Dr. Polly Peterson, President of the University of Jamestown, reflected on the impact of such programs on the broader Fargo community.

Happy Nurses Week! We're incredibly grateful for the dedication and sacrifice of nurses and nursing students across the country.

In 2024 alone, Risepoint university partners supported more than 26,000 students studying in the healthcare field, mostly in nursing. We're proud to help our partners prepare the next generation of nurses and healthcare workers, and ultimately make their communities stronger and healthier.
