Every year, the Alternative Assets Management Center (Commonly known as Alts) selects approximately 50 Cox School of Business juniors to be apart of their program. Alts is known to be one of the most prestigious finance programs in the country with a median GPA of 3.9 among its members. Last Saturday, seven of our impressive juniors were granted admission into this program. They will be spending the next three semesters getting hands-on training in financial markets. It takes a monumental amount of qualifications, recommendations, tenacity, and rectitude to get into this program so a huge congratulations to our seven juniors.

Today is a good day to be a Phi. Along with our senior class graduating, our very own Thomas Ferguson was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. It goes without saying that this is no small feat, Thomas underwent countless hours of trials and tribulations just to see this moment. Texas Delta is extremely proud of your accomplishments, Thomas!

Congratulations to senior Thomas Ferguson on being awarded Brother of the Quarter by the Texas Delta chapter of Phi Delta Theta at SMU.

This summer, Thomas Ferguson completed Officer Candidate School for the United States Marine Corps through the platoon leaders class, a program allowing college students to complete OCS during college and giving them the ability to commission upon graduation from school. Thomas plans to commission into the Marine Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant when he graduates in May. He will spend 6-9 months training in Virginia before getting stationed with the operating forces and deployed. He hopes to have the military occupational specialty of Infantry Officer.
