We enjoyed getting to play for future HJMS band students! Thank you Allgood for coming by to tour our school - we are looking forward to welcoming our friends from Poole, Northside, and Dallas next week!

Rising 5th graders - make sure you stop by the band room on the 800 hall at the 5th grade Scavenger Hunt on May 8th!!

With all the school-ptsa fun events happening this year!, lets give a shout out to our very own HJMS Band 🎺 and Chours 🎼 scholars. They represent our middle school when they have to attend performance shows and for their own band, chours families. This is an all year connections - club commitment. Their meetings can be early school mornings to after school practice.

Great job to our Symphonic Winds students tonight! Join us in December for our holiday concert!

Parents! Tomorrow marks the official beginning to our band fundraiser! However we soft launched yesterday and you can go ahead and register your student and submit your early orders! This is a very important fundraiser for our program and all funds go directly towards improving your student’s band experience. Please considered supporting, however large or small and share with friends and family. The class that has the largest percentage of students registered by the end of the day on Friday will get a donut party and the student that shares our fundraiser the most by Friday will get a Chick-fil-A breakfast courtesy of Mr. Griffin!

We are ready to begin welcoming back students into the band room on Monday! Band students will need their instruments starting Tuesday of the first week of school!

It’s not too late to join band at Herschel Jones!



We look forward to welcoming returning students back and meeting some new faces tomorrow at open house! The HJMS music programs will have tables set up in the gym and would love to meet you! We will have information about joining band and/or chorus and would love to have you in our programs! Stop by and say hello!

Hello everyone! This week we have two band parent meetings. Our meeting on Monday August 9 at 6pm is for beginners and our meeting on Wednesday August 11 at 6pm is for returning students. We are so excited to have our HJMS Tiger Band back on Monday! All returning 7th and 8th grade band students should plan to bring their instruments on the first day! Beginning band students; we cannot wait to welcome you into our band family! Students will be sent home with lots of information about band for the year on Monday and it will also be shared via social media and email!

Good evening HJMS band families! As we are gearing up for our first week of school, I am overwhelmed with excitement for what is to come this school year in band!
