Hello golfers. to set up properly, aim the butt of your irons about 2 to 3 inches below your belt, and point the driver at your belt. On the back swing point both thumgs up to the sky and your wrist will hinge consistently and correctly each swing. Hope these tips help. Go Play!!! Kenneth Vaughn

In the art and science of problem solving, first we must define the specific result we wish to achieve. In the golf swing the end result is the impact position. So set up in the impact position, then execute the back swing and on the downswing return to the impact position. Do this and improve your ball striking dramatically. Kenneth Vaughn

The wave is a new swing. It is so simple. It works for putting, chipping, and full shots. All the golf videos show what the wave looks like when they describe the impact position and a flat lead wrist angle. Place your palms facing each other and extent your arms out in front of you. Wave your hands to the right and then the left. Do it again and this time hinge your wrist up and down. Which is more relaxed and free of being tight and tense? The tradition hinge has you set up with the wrist cupped, at the top of the back swing that may still be hinged, then on the way down you are supposed to bow the lead wrist to get to the impact position. This is three moves. If you start by waving your wrist, this is one single move to arrive at the same impact position without any stress or tension. As I said, the wave works with putting and chipping also. So simple, not complicated. Try the wave movement you will be pleased. Kenneth Vaughn

There are three ways or 3 body movement sequencing a golfer can employ to start the downswing, the hips, the shoulders or the arms. Each person is different, and one of these is best for each individual. For me the arms is best to move first and then the hips and the shoulders. But others may have more success by turning the left hip first, or turning the shoulders first. All three occur in the downswing within .o2 seconds which is the blink of the eye. But it makes a big difference in generating club head speed. You have to find yours and I can help you do that. Kenneth Vaughn

Rhythm is often stated as the key to a good golf swing, yet how do we define rhythm in a way that can be performed. I will attempt to describe how to achieve rhythm in your swing. It begins with a slow backswing that keeps the club face square to the target line. The trigger to start the downswing which is at full speed is by moving the left knee to the left. This will trigger the correct sequencing of the movement of shifting the weight from the right foot to the left foot and cause the correct sequencing of the hips, the shoulders and the arms and produce the highest club head speed. Assuming a stance at address in the same position a second basemen in baseball takes to throw side arm to first base with the left foot flared outward will make it easier to execute the moving of the left knee first.

Good afternoon. this advice is for the 40 and older golfer. Balance becomes a challenge as we mature, so widen your stance, this creates better balance and will instantly improve your consistency at solid and consistent ball contact. Also flair the lead foot to help you turn on the downswing. The motion you want to achieve is like the shortstop throwing the ball to first base side armed. This is a very natural motion and with the wide stance, better balance it will improve your ball striking. Give it a try. Go Play!

Good morning, the right hand of a right handed golfer is most of the time neglected in golf instruction. The right hand is the key to the well struck golf shot whether chipping, irons, or the driver. At address, turn the right wrist to the right and then return the palm to square with the ball as in throwing a baseball. When the right wrist bends back it pulls the left arm with it and bows the left wrist which is the correct strike position of the left hand. You will be amazed at your improved ball striking and you will notice that your shots travel much higher and further. Go Play!!! This technique is under taught and under publicized but it is the key to chipping, iron shots and the driver. I am 78 and I am hitting my driver in excess of 260 yards. Kenneth Vaughn

The key to consistent ball striking is at the start of the backswing, aim the butt of the club at the ball and this will set the timing for the unleashing of the hands and solid and consistent ball contact.

If for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, then for the right handed golfer what is the opposite of the right forefinger pressing on the top side of the handle to control the open, square, or closed position of the club face? It is the left thumb. Place the club in your left hand and notice the left thumb is on the right top side of the shaft. Take a one arm slow motion swing and you will noticed the left thumb points straight up on the back swing. Now hit a ball guiding the club face with the left thumb and wella, the well struck golf ball!!! Yes, every move has a sister opposite move, and it may fit you better. Go Play!
