When Shelly’s youngest son, Christopher, was diagnosed with celiac disease at age 13, she and her husband made the immediate decision to make the entire household gluten-free.

Sound familiar? You may know someone with celiac disease or non-celiac gluten sensitivities (NCGS) who is living gluten-free. You want to be supportive, but you’re not sure how. We spoke with two moms who shared their journeys supporting and encouraging their children who are gluten-free. Visit the link below to read more!

Baylor Scot & White is wonderful hospital with the WORST food options ever, especially diet restrictions.

Are you concerned about potential hospital stays and worried about their ability to safely provide you gluten-free meals? Do you have a personal experience to share?

Thankfully, gluten-free options at hospitals are getting better. In fact, some hospitals take the gluten-free needs of their guests seriously enough to get their facilities Validated as Gluten Free Safe Spots by our Gluten-Free Food Service Validation Program. We proudly stand behind the safety of food at these locations, it's one less thing that you need to worry about.

Is your local hospital not on this list? You can still be prepared in case the need arises. Check out our article below which includes sample letters that you can provide to the hospital staff: doctors, nurses, pharmacy staff and dietitians (download the printable version to access these letters).

Am I the last to know this has barley in it?
I’ve used it forever! Like 40 years I believe and bought a new bottle today and notice barley in the list of ingredients. I looked at my old bottle and the list of ingredients there I couldn’t read, like in a foreign language. Upon some research, seems barley was added in 2013. ??

New location for an old favorite. Great American Hero has moved from Oak Lawn to next to Whataburger by the double decker Sam's Club/Walmart on Retail Road, by Skillman & NW highway.

Not 100% Celiac safe as not a dedicated facility but I was told that they do clean the panini press in between sandwiches and the workers changed their gloves when I said it was an allergy/intolerance .

Recall. I posted about this the other day but here it is from GIG

Hi Everyone! I'm Sara, a gluten-free dietitian. I wanted to spread the word that Oatly oak milk is part of a very big recall happening right now. It's one of our certified options and it's what's served at starbucks. If you do go to Starbucks and order oat milk I always recommend double checking that they are using a certified oat milk but now if they are using Oatly, you have to make sure it's not part of the recall. Unfortunately, the lots that apply have expiration dates into April 2023.

The recall itself includes 53 drinks & meal replacements (terribly scary). I'm going to put the link under this and I highly recommend you take a look. There are familiar brands.
