Why Children Thrive Without Technology — Common Sense Classical How much access should students have to computers? How much screen time is too much screen time? Why use pencil and paper anymore? Should schools really have an allocated “technology” budget?
NEW! Starting in January 2023, we are offering a new Arts & Crafts course for girls: European Renaissance and Ethnic clothes making for dolls. The course will teach girls aged 8 - 15 (and their moms) some "old school" artful skills (sewing and embroidery) plus drawing personal desigs as applied to their beloved dolls. To avoid boredom while doing the handwork for their dolls' unique wardrobes, the girls will receive related anecdotes from European history and literature that can help them anticipate with joy their future AP History and AP Literature school classes.
(Examples of Renaissance and ethnic clothes for dolls: French Renaissance dress, Italian Renaissance dress, Balkan Renaissance dress, French Enlightenment dress, Flamenco dress; the costumes can include related all-hand-made accessories.)

Our home-office has relocated to scenic Granbury, Texas, in anticipation of environmentally-oriented classes for homeschoolers and Covid-19-exhausted students. We also grew with a "Production Unit" (6 budgie couples and 4 zebra finch couples), wonderful pet-parents who have been amazingly happy to just keep mating ... just enjoying their large Zen garden room. The sales of their baby-budgie initiative has been covering free tutoring hours for many students during the pandemic.
OUR SCHOOL'S COVID-19 RESPONSE
In 2022-2023, our mobile tutoring school has pledged to offer and has been providing a set of FREE lessons (English, French and Italian) to Texan students. The lessons are held at public libraries.
(To fund our FREE lessons during the Covid-19 pandemic, our school has recently relied on its own affiliated unit that raises and "relocates for a fee" a limited number of budgies and finches.)
