Jeff wasn’t in our class, but he touched so many lives. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers or close in your thoughts.
We weren’t especially close, but every time I saw Jeff, I was met with a genuine “How are you doing?” hug, and a smile that could light up any room. Those little moments stay with you.

Holding Stephanie, their kids & his loved ones in my heart during this time.

Wendi’s service is scheduled for Saturday (3/11) 2:00pm Trinity Church on Fir Villa in Dallas

It is with a heavy heart I am posting that we have lost another classmate. I was notified via email last night of Wendy Wynia’s passing. At this time there are no service details. When/if I receive any other pertinent information, I will be sure to pass it on. I apologize for sending this notification in a Facebook post, I know Wendy will be missed despite the time that may have passed.

On behalf of the class of 1990 I have sent our condolences to the family during this difficult time.

I first met Wendy, when our family moved back to town in third grade. What I remember most and what I always loved about her was her smile. It truly was infectious. —- Missy Spofford (Liggett)

Hello classmates!! I heard a rumor the class of 91 was going forward with having their reunion in August this year!! I also heard another rumor that Governor Brown won’t be putting us back into the Extreme category for the rest of the summer...In light of this I figured I would ask you all for some opinions... Remember, this is your party... the more opinions, the better we can plan! If you don’t want to give yours on FB please private message one of the tagged in this post.
Let’s keep all opinions on topic.
1. Do we want to plan our reunion the same weekend as the Class of 91? I will see if we can coordinate a Friday night mixer (open to all classes). Then we plan our own Class function Saturday. Weekend of August 6 & 7th.

2. Different weekend all together, later in August? July is out for most our party planning committee... (Myself & Kari Vlasak Laizure)

3. Let’s just shoot for 2022... it’s too late to make travel plans.

Hi friends! Well, we didn’t have the voter turn out on our survey I was hoping for... in numbers and decision. However, I think it’s obviously the best with what we are working with. We are officially postponing our reunion to next year. Let’s just pretend this year didn’t happen, lol... 😂🤷🏼‍♀️. Please know, I actually thought about doing it this year but with my luck we’d have an outbreak... That’s not something our board wants to take a chance on. So, let’s take this time to throw out any suggestions, dates, locations, and/or activities you’d like to see for our reunion next year. Blue Garden has closed. 😞 It has also been suggested to combine class of 90 & 91 reunions. But, That is something I haven’t looked into or talked with anyone about. Spam this post with ideas or suggestions! Let’s take this time and plan something fun and memorable. If I’ve learned anything as 50 approaches fast, it’s that we aren’t getting any younger and time with friends is precious!

Thank you for your time,
Missy M Spofford

Classmates: Just touching base with you all! Lets hold tight a few weeks. Before sending out registration forms we feel like we need to wait and see what happens. I don't want to panic and cancel, but at same time I don't want to assume things will move forward as usual. Please don't mistake our silence as a lack of planning.... we are still committed to our reunion. ~~Stay home, stay healthy, and wash your hands!! We want to see you all in July!!

I was asked to post this:
From Micky Garus ...
Asking for prayers. Steve Betschart is a Dallas icon, and most of us know him. He was one of the greatest teachers many of us ever had, he’s an awesome historian and a fantastic Trumpet player, plus, he’s just a wonderful man. This virus is getting more real being in our own backyard, and affecting people we know personally. Get well soon Steve, our prayers are with you.

From Jenni Betschart:
“Requesting prayers in this moment for my dad. He's at home fighting a virus. No breathing problems but he's very weak and not very responsive. Please pray for strength and wisdom for my mom too. Thank you.
Edit: Ok. Dad has been transported via ambulance to Salem Hospital. He wasn't able to get out of the chair or tell paramedics his last name so they are taking him in. Mom was not allowed to go. No one can go visit him at this time. Mom is at home and I offered to visit her from a safe distance but she said she's ok. I'll go again tomorrow to the house. I asked how we're going to get updates from the hospital. They are supposed to call mom but it will be awhile. We aren't expecting much information until this evening.
Edit: The hospital has confirmed Covid-19.

Edit:Update: the hospital called and Dr. Vanik a lung specialist provided an update. Dad has extensive pneumonia in both lungs. He is requiring 100% oxygen on the ventilator. They are starting all available therapies for Covid 19 treatment. He mentioned plaquil. He noted that patients usually get worse initially and Dad is being monitored very closely. Hospital is in lockdown mode so no one can come. They are sedating Dad. things can change hour to hour so Mom will call back in an hour to check status.

Update: Dad coded. They did CPR and brought him back

Updated 10:30 pm: The lung doctor said there was some improvement. We are praying for no calls tonight. No updates is a good thing. Thank you all for lifting our family in prayers. May God's mercy be on dad as he rests tonight and God's healing evident for everyone to see. Mom is quarantined at home and I am now quarantined in my home for 7 days. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to help meet us in our isolation. And prayers for my sister who has been a rock throughout this crisis. Thank you all.

Updated Mon morning: "Steve is extremely sick. He is critically ill. He is sedated and on pain meds." This nurse says that I should wait for her to call me after rounds when she knows more. I expect to hear from her around noon. She will call earlier if there's an issue. So, we wait.”
