As the 2025–2026 school year comes to a close, we would like to give a special shoutout to the P-TECH students at H. Grady Spruce High School.

We are incredibly grateful for the mentorship and support they provided to our JDLA students throughout the year. Their guidance helped cultivate a strong sense of belonging while encouraging our students to become more confident, responsible, and accountable in their academic work.

Our JDLA staff also benefited from their support through volunteering at various events, including evening music performances, Field Day, and more.

There is something truly impactful about elementary students working alongside high school students. These experiences help younger students see the possibilities ahead of them as they continue their educational journey and envision what is possible for their future.

This meaningful partnership between Dorsey and Spruce was made possible through the collaboration and support of United to Learn who helped connect both campuses and Assistant Principal Mrs. Maria Ellis, who spearheaded opportunities for students to learn from one another.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Assistant Principal Dr. Michelle Coleman for her leadership and continued support in overseeing the P-TECH students throughout this partnership.

We look forward to welcoming these outstanding high school mentors back to Dorsey next school year!
