We are a daycare center for children ages six weeks to five years. Our totally renovated facility offers class rooms, library, explorer room, art studio, and large playground. We educate children at all ages and our student to teacher ratio is currently 1:6. We also provide drop-in services at reasonable rates. Davenport Montessoriβs staff comprises trained professionals who play the role of teacher In our classrooms. Each of the teachers embraces the importance of quality relationships with their students, fully knowing that her contact with your babies/toddlers will have a long-lasting impression. Additionally, our teachers make it their goal to prepare these children for the transition between daycare and elementary school. Each member of our staff is fluent in English and has been educated in the United States. The infant program emphasizes a warm, home-like environment. Teachers pay close attention to the infants, watching their reflexes and reacting positively. We follow a strict curriculum and report progress to parents on a daily basis. Toddlers
The toddler program also emphasizes a routine curriculum and a pre-designed, all-day activity-filled schedule. Food is served three times per day: breakfast, lunch, and a snack. Typically, after being given their snack, toddlers are encouraged to participate in physical activities in the school backyard. Preschool
The preschool program coincides with the most critical stage in child development. At the school, the preschool curriculum emphasizes creative thinking and discipline. Pre-Kindergarten and After-Schoolers
The pre-K and after-school program is equipped with several, custom-tailored rooms, such as the Library, Arts Studio, and Creative Minds and Explorers rooms. Here, all children can participate, according to their age, needs, and dispositions. In the library, children can complete their homework meanwhile in the Creative Minds Room, they can play with puzzles and other innovative toys. Similarly, the Arts Studio Room encourages children to express themselves through drawings, plays, and documentaries featuring history, geography, science, and technology.
