H. Grady Spruce High School Choir

Tonight is our first ever Dallas Idols competition! Come out to support our students, Alaysia Neil, Alexandria Johnson, Wallace Thomas, and Jordan Singleton, as they compete against students from Townview Magnet Center and WT White HS. Join us for a great show and vote for your favorite performers!

Our 7th Annual Spruce Idols competition was a great success! We have a lot of talented students compete. Congratulations to all of our winners:
1st place - Jordan Singleton
2nd place - Alexandria Johnson
3rd place - Wallace Thomas
4th place - Alaysia Neal
5th place - Esmeralda Jaimes

We also had great performances by our piano ensemble and our piano soloist, Leonardo Gonzalez, and by Mr. Pittman, who kept us entertained with his smooth saxophone and vocals.

Thank you to our fantastic hosts, Marshelle Thomas and Chris Martinez, to our insightful judges, Ms. Lyons, Ms. Morgan, and Ms. Bush, and to Mr. Pittman and his crew for running sound.

A very extra special thank you goes out to everyone who helped set-up for the show, especially our dedicated choir officers, Jeanette Cabrera Jennifer Hernandez, Juanita Ortega, and Jeremias Munoz. We couldn't do this without all of your hard-work and creativity. Thanks, everyone!

Our choir students competed at Solo and Ensemble, yesterday. Everyone who performed did a great job and we are proud of all of them. Congratulations to all the students who made Division I Superior and Division II Excellent ratings, and especially to the four students who will be representing Spruce HS at State!

Thank you to everyone who helped out at our first ever DISD Mock All-State Choir Auditions. We had a big turnout from several Dallas schools and everything ran very smoothly. The directors from the other schools kept telling me how hard-working, courteous, responsible, friendly, and well-trained those of you who showed up were. Thank you for representing our school so well! I'm really proud of all of you!
