The Black Law Students Association (BLSA) is one of the largest student-run organizations in the nation. We look forward to seeing you at a meeting or an event!

Originally founded in 1968 on the campus of NYU Law School by Mr. AJ Cooper, BLSA's mission is to articulate and promote the needs and goals of black law students, as well as effect change within the legal community. This weekend SMU BLSA held our 1L Academic Bootcamp! Thank you so much to the 2Ls and 3Ls who gave our 1L students great advice about how to be successful during their first set of finals. After the Bootcamp, we finished our day off with a fun gathering at Landmark.

SMU BLSA is excited to announce our official community service project of the semester!

We have decided to give back to our community by helping black high school students in the Dallas area register to vote. To become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar, use the link on the flyer to complete the registration form. To fully become registered as as a Volunteer Deputy Registrar, the Dallas County Deputy Registrar’s Office requires participants to complete a virtual class that will be held this Thursday, September 15 from 6PM to 7PM.
