I was discussing with a friend today why PD never truly makes much of a difference. New information tells us we are defined by our habits. Since we create those habits we can change them. Why then is it so hard to change our habits? Because they bring us comfort and we created our habits to avoid the uncomfortable feelings we did not want to face about ourselves. We can change how we look at ourselves. Using a forgiving, loving, attitude of gratefulness we can forgive ourselves for not knowing everything and how to fix it all immediately. True learning comes through experience, awareness, and then redirecting our own path. This is why professional development cannot be done through classes alone.
