STARS is a Peer to Peer Mentoring programming that partners upperclassmen with middle school or ninth grade students in an attempt to give these younger students positive role models to look up to.

Girlz Day Out with our STARS Mentors...The girls were challenged to come up with 3 goals for this school year and use them, along with their ultimate dream, to create vision boards. We discussed HOT TOPICS that affect teen girls over lunch...a lady at a nearby table came over to apologize for staring at us, but she said "I think what u r doing is wonderful." ~ Mentor Coordinator, Veronica Lee

Thanks to generous gifts, we raised $29,700 throughout the day from 98 donors! Adding to that our $20,000 matching donation from donor Amy Simmons, we received $49,700 in donations, not including the matching funds from Donor Bridge.

STARS mentors in a robotics class at DeVry on yesterday...they had to program the robots to navigate the track and cross the finish line. If the robots got off course, they had to make adjustments and start over - which is the same message we teach our mentees! You can always make adjustments, start over, & still FINISH STRONG!
