During World Literacy Month, we’re celebrating literacy as a family journey.

At Literacy Achieves, learning doesn’t stop with the parent. While adults are building English skills, confidence, and new opportunities, their children are learning too through our Early Childhood Education program.

This is not babysitting. It is an intentional learning environment designed to nurture early development, curiosity, and school readiness—so children can begin building strong foundations while their parents continue building theirs.

Tomorrow, Literacy Achieves will be out in the community as we join the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce for its nonprofit gathering on September 1.

We’re especially excited that our Development Director, Janaé Willis-Beard, will be participating as a panel speaker, joining fellow nonprofit and community leaders in conversation about the work strengthening East Dallas.
The event also marks a meaningful beginning: a month of giving starts here.

What if your generosity could inspire an entire community to give?

As Literacy Achieves prepares for North Texas Giving Day on September 17, we are looking for individuals, families, businesses, foundations, and community partners who would consider providing a matching gift or challenge fund for this year's campaign.

Matching funds do more than increase dollars raised. They create momentum, encourage new donors to participate, and give our community another reason to say, “I'm in.”

Our goal is to raise $50,000, with a stretch goal of $65,000—and the right matching partner could help us open even more doors for adults and families working toward a brighter future through literacy.
