Please pray for Literacy ConneXus this Sunday!

First, we can Thank God for all He has done this past year! Providing books, training teachers, laughing programs, supporting churches, and partnering with so many to help others learn to read, write, speak, and listen in a language that is unnecessarily complex (English). Thank God for all He has done!

Second, pray for those who are struggling, especially those whose lack of literacy or understanding English has created barriers for them. Pray that God will open doors for them.

Third, Thank God for our amazing volunteers! They tirelessly serve - from office admin to behind the scenes; training teachers at conferences, or leading classes in the classrooms - we are so thankful for you and that your love for the Lord has led you to serve others!

Thank you! and Thank you for your prayers!

Here is the 3rd of our 4 programs, and one great reason to give this : What's for Lunch? - A reading program which began as a supplement to summer-meals programs, helping children avoid the "summer reading slide." Now, we offer pop-up reading events, book distribution in collaboration with partners, and cozy reading spaces to encourage readers of all ages!

I hope you will join me in an important training about Mental Health Literacy on September 10th, with Literacy Texas!

Our Theme of the Month in September is an important one for all of us, but particularly for those of us in the serving professions: Mental Health Literacy.

One of the ways we'll explore this is at our monthly Best of Texas spotlight. Together with our guests, we’ll explore mental health through reflection, conversation, and practical strategy-building. We’ll examine the signs and symptoms of stress and burnout, discuss how mental health literacy can improve self-awareness, and identify realistic ways to support personal and professional well-being in demanding roles.
