This afternoon, Levine Academy was buzzing with innovation as we hosted the Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education - CIJE Robotics Competition, welcoming teams from Levine Academy and Robert M. Beren Academy in Houston for an exciting showdown!

After an afternoon of engineering, problem-solving, and teamwork, a Levine team featuring Molly W. ('25) and Gideon R. ('26) came out on top, securing 1st place with an impressive 52 points! A Beren Academy team also had an amazing showing, earning 2nd place—Kol Hakavod to all participants!

Robotics challenges students to think critically, collaborate, and apply STEM concepts in real-world ways, preparing them for future careers in engineering, technology, and beyond. These students showcased dedication, perseverance, and creativity, proving that STEM education is more than just learning—it’s about innovation and problem-solving!

A huge thank you to our incredible Robotics Coaches and STEM Team—Jackie Kirkendall, Gwen Eishen, Megan Copulsky, and Paula Helms—for guiding and inspiring our students.

Way to go, teams, and thank you to CIJE for an amazing competition! We can’t wait for the next challenge!

🌌 Learn about the night sky 🪐
📱 Explore augmented & mixed reality
🧪 Create their own lava lamps, bath bombs & fossils
🎮 Play STEM-based games
🧑‍🏫 Engage with middle school docents at stations all over the school

STEM education is a crucial part of K-8 learning, helping students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity—all while having a blast!

A huge thank you to our STEM team, educators, and student docents for making this day so memorable and inspiring!

Levine Academy student Emily B. ('27), with her father Jonathan, took her Bat Mitzvah project to the next level—turning LEGO bricks into a meaningful impact!

Emily spent time sorting, cleaning, and selling LEGO pieces, with all proceeds going to Vogel Alcove, an organization dedicated to helping young children and families overcome homelessness and poverty. Through her dedication and generosity, Emily was able to make a difference in the lives of children in need.

We are so proud of Emily for using her creativity, kindness, and hard work to give back to the community. Kol Hakavod, Emily!

This past weekend, many of our Levine Academy students hit the courts to compete in points_for_peace25, an incredible annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament organized by Akiba Yavneh Academy’s Students Against Terrorism (SAT). More than just a tournament, Points for Peace is a powerful opportunity for students to come together in support of a greater cause—this year raising funds for FIDF’s Legacy Camps program, which provides summer camp experiences for children and siblings of fallen Israeli soldiers.

We are so proud of all our students who participated, demonstrating teamwork, heart, and community spirit throughout the event! A huge congratulations to our 4th grade Levine Stallions for winning their division championship! 🏆

After completing their social studies unit on government, Levine Academy 3rd-grade students took their learning to the next level with an exciting Reader’s Theater project! Through engaging performances, they showcased their understanding of key historical moments, including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitutional Convention, the three branches of government, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

This interactive experience with educators Bianca Hirschowitz, Anna Shalev and Dana Ingall, allowed students to bring history to life, reinforcing their knowledge while having fun with storytelling and performance. What a fantastic way to make learning memorable and exciting!

This Purim, several of our students, faculty, and staff dressed as Batman in remembrance of Ariel Bibas, a young boy who loved the superhero and whose story became a symbol of resilience and remembrance.

For a year and a half, a photograph of the Bibas family in Batman pajamas stood as a global vigil for their safe return after their abduction from their home in southern Israel on October 7, 2023. Ariel, just four years old, had dressed as Batman for Purim that year, and his parents, Shiri and Yarden, joyfully matched his passion by dressing the entire family in Batman gear, including his baby brother, Kfir.

Now, as the world mourns the loss of Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir, and with Yarden back in Israel after his release, Jews around the world—including our Levine Academy community—are dressing as Batman in their honor.

May their memory be a blessing and may their story remind us of the strength and unity of the Jewish people.

This morning’s K-8 K’hilah K’doshah Shabbat was filled with laughter, creativity, and community spirit as our 6th graders brought the Purim story to life in a truly unique way—with Dr. Seuss characters, rhymes, raps, songs, and dances! 📖🎶

Through their imaginative storytelling and joyful performances, they reminded us of the importance of tradition, celebration, and coming together as a community. Watching students of all ages engage with Purim in such a fun and meaningful way was a true testament to the spirit of Levine Academy!

Kol Hakavod to our incredible 6th graders and faculty for making this Shabbat so memorable and full of joy!

This morning, our Early Childhood staff and faculty brought the Purim story to life with an unforgettable play, filled with fun, laughter, and of course—LOTS of grogger shaking! 🥳✨

Our incredible cast:
👑 Esther Wolf (EC Asst. Director) as Queen Esther
🤴 Rabbi Feivel (Director of Jewish Life & Learning) as King Ahashverosh
💃 Dana Shidlofsky (Director of Extended Day & Camp Shemesh) as Queen Vashti
🕍 Hillary Block (3s Educator) as Mordecai
😈 Sandra Cantor as the not-so-beloved Haman

The kiddos had an absolute blast sounding their groggers every time Haman’s name was mentioned—boo! 👏 And to make it even more special, our Pre-K students crafted their own groggers, designed to look like their favorite Purim characters! 🥁💛

Thank you to our amazing EC team for making Purim so exciting, interactive, and meaningful for our youngest learners. What a way to bring the holiday to life!
