It's Professional Wellness Day and those that work in the O'Donnell Brain Institute work to keep you mentally and physically healthy. The research building houses ground breaking research into keeping the brain healthy.

Since it's Dinosaur Day we want to share the only dinosaur picture we have found in our collection. Used in the 1994 senior film these students are making sure that this dino is healthy 😂

It's national save your hearing day. This little girl in 1997 is hearing for the very first time after a cochlear implant. She was one of the youngest in Dallas to receive this at the time.

Nimman Satumtira was a researcher and technician who worked across departments and labs here on campus, though her work focused on Spondyloarthritis.

Hongtao Yu, Ph.D. was a researcher in the Department of Pharmacology from 1999 to 2019, and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator from 2008 to 2019. While at UT Southwestern he held The Serena S. Simmons Distinguished Chair in Cancer Immunopharmacology.

The Jere H. Mitchell, M.D. Collection features the research and work of Dr. Mitchell over his career at UT Southwestern. There are photographs from events, copies of his lecture slides, speeches, and research, recordings of experiments and talks, and correspondence. The collection will soon be fully processed and is available to researchers.

Just 93 years ago our campus was in the first stages of construction for our very first building. As the foundations were laid, Parkland Hospital was in it's final stages of construction beside it.

The UT Southwestern Special Collections Library and University Archives will be closed May 25th, 2026 in recognition of Memorial Day. We will be back to normal office hours Tuesday, May 26th.
