If so, your child might need help with flexible thinking. This is a key Executive Functioning Skill that children often need to work on and as adults we hope they will learn by themselves (surprise...your child isn't born with this skill).

How can you help?
✔️Remove devices and have a family game night
✔️Enroll your child in a group sport
✔️Use a planner to organize their schedule

A child that can be flexible in their thinking is able to switch gears and adapt as their day evolves without feeling overly stressed. Help your child achieve this necessary skill with a few changes to their daily routine!

Many students think:

"I'll start when I feel ready."

But confidence rarely comes first. It usually comes after completing that first small step. Then suddenly:

✅Every question answered.
✅Every assignment completed.

Task initiation – the ability to start a task without procrastinating – is one of the hardest Executive Functioning Skills to master. Many students genuinely struggle to begin, even when they want to succeed.
