Sometimes the smallest gestures say the biggest things 💐
This week, one of our third grade students, John, insisted his mom stop for flowers on the way to school for Teacher Appreciation Week. No one suggested it—this was all him. He even brought his own wallet and used his own money to buy flowers for his teachers and clinical team.
When asked why, he said:
“My teachers and the clinical team work REALLY REALLY hard. I want them to have these!”
Moments like this remind us why we do what we do.

As graduation draws closer, we’re excited to begin our Senior Spotlight series—celebrating each member of the Class of 2026 and counting down to the big day by highlighting the incredible students who make up this graduating class.
Please join us in celebrating Charlie, Vanguard’s Valedictorian for the Class of 2026! Since joining Vanguard in 2017, Charlie has distinguished himself through hard work, dedication, and academic excellence. We are so proud to honor his accomplishments and the example he has set for his classmates.
Charlie enjoys cars, video games, and watches, and one of his favorite Vanguard memories is camp—where he played games, had no idea what he was doing, and still somehow came out on top. He says his favorite teacher is Mr. Ross because he is always fun to be around.
This fall, Charlie will attend the University of North Texas and pursue his goal of becoming an optometrist. He is especially excited to meet new people and begin this next chapter.
Congratulations, Charlie! We know your future is bright and can’t wait to see all you accomplish. 💚
