Last Friday, OSEE made a special visit to the graduate school! βοΈ A big thank you to Lemmon Drop Coffee Co. for supplying delicious coffee and donuts. Students enjoyed a much-needed energy boost to tackle their studies. π©πͺ It was a delightful kickstart to the weekend, with caffeine and sweets to fuel those late-night research sessions. πβ¨

Our first Lunch and Learn with Dr. Cameron Davis was a hit!
Dr. Davis is a licensed psychologist here at the Student Wellness and Counseling Center.
He shared how to manage test anxiety and stress, emphasizing:
Pursue Excellence: Focus on personal growth over perfection.
Embrace Stress: Understand it's a natural part of life and learn to manage it.
Use Multiple Skills: Combine cognitive, behavioral, and psychological strategies for balance.

βStudent Spotlight: Luis Loyaβ
School of Health Professions 3rd Year PA Student
During his time in PA school, Luis has gained a deep understanding of the significance of advocacy and representation for the communities he serves. As president of the student organization SHPride, his goals have centered on increasing awareness of health disparities and the unique aspects of care needed for LGBTQIA+ patients. Luis has orchestrated guest lectures by local community advocates and healthcare providers to educate his peers on providing inclusive care for LGBTQIA+ patients. Furthermore, he has partnered with organizations like Prism Health North Texas to organize donation drives aimed at collecting supplies for those in need. Luis is committed to delivering top-quality care as a PA and aims to emerge as a leader in advocacy for his community.

The 17th Annual UT Southwestern Academy of Teachers (SWAT) Reception and Awards ceremony recognized Dr. Carolyn Bradley-Guidry for her exceptional contributions to teaching at UT Southwestern. This prestigious event celebrated faculty members across all UTSW schools for their outstanding teaching in 2023 and welcomed newly elected members.
Dr. Bradley-Guidry is Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Engagement for the School of Health Professions and an Associate Professor of Physician Assistant Studies.
