IT’S HOUSE SPIRIT WEEK AT HJMS!!

The excitement is building at Herschel Jones Middle School! During preplanning, our staff got into the House spirit by preparing for House Sorting Day and even designing their very own House shirts!

Now, we can’t wait to welcome our new sixth graders and students new to HJMS into one of our amazing Houses!

Our House System is all about creating a stronger sense of belonging, community, connection, school spirit, and camaraderie among our scholars and staff. Each House has its own identity and spirit, but together, WE ARE ONE HJMS FAMILY!

The anticipation is real. The Houses are ready. Our Tigers are ready.

There are many ways to access student clubs and organizations! Join us at our 2nd annual Club Carnival this Wednesday, August 12 at 6:00 pm.

Come and check out our HJMS student clubs on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 6 pm! Let's see which house will have the most participants! Food vendor will be on site!

Our first week of school at HJMS has been nothing but AMAZING! From our Back the Pack Community Welcome to our great new and returning educators and students! We are off to a GREEEAAAT Tiger school year!

We loved meeting Pastor Sizemore and his young members of Reliant Church! Their staff made our day during preplanning with Chic Fil A biscuits and juice! Thank you, Reliant Church!

Middle school clubs provide students with opportunities to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build meaningful connections with peers and staff. Participation in clubs fosters a sense of belonging, encourages teamwork and leadership, and helps students become more engaged in school. Whether focused on academics, arts, service, or special interests, clubs enrich the middle school experience by promoting personal growth, confidence, and school pride.
